really? just...seriously? i can't even search youtube? i type in Torchwood Children of Earth Day Four and click sort by 'newest.' Some asshole has posted a major, epically huge spoiler in the title of his video. It hasn't even been 6 hours since it aired in the UK! I'm aware that i'm in a different country, and they get to know stuff first. i know to be wary of spoilers right now. hence, i stay off the fansites till someone uploads TW to youtube. But apparently even youtube can massively spoil you. But c'mon! you can't even vague it up a little bit? not so plainly state it? hell, there are probably people in the UK that still have it waiting for them on their TiVo's! It's just rude.

My mother is insane. like totally batshit crazy. and not in the fun supernatural fangirl way either.

She always calls me if she wants to know how late i'm staying some place. And i'm always pretty good at answering my phone. so tonight i go out, and i've checked my phone every hour or so because i know that i've been out a while. i figure that since i'm always out late with this group of friends, she assumes that i'm going to be out late. otherwise she would call, right? nope. i get home and she yells at me about how i should've called. she purposely didn't call me because she wanted me to call her. how am i supposed to know that. i cannot read her mind. if she wants me to call, i'll call. but how the hell am i expected to call when she never asked me too?

And you know what? I was all happy and chipper when I walked the the door. I had a really, really great day. It was a lot of fun. I went swimming in my friend's rich aunt's pool, then out to dinner, then to mini golf. I lost mini golf, but it was okay. i still had fun. plus i got a hole in one at the very last one. Overall, first really great day i've had in a while. Then my mom has to go and crap all over it. thanks so much.

So i looked at all the extended promos for the CW pilots on YouTube. The Vampire Diaries looks like it might be good. Yeah, it's jumping on the Twilight bandwagon quite a bit, but i kinda miss that romance on my screen every week. Y'know what I mean, right? Those intense relationships between a human and a nonhuman like Buffy and Angel or Liz and Max. It might be good.

However the CW also decided to pick up The Beautiful Life and Melrose Place. Really? That soooo didn't need to happen. They already have Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill and 90210. How many nighttime soap operas do you need? Neither look particularly wonderful. If they have to take a show like that, couldn't it have at least been Lily? I mean at least that has the fun 80s twist.

Parental Discretion Advised actually looks...what's the word i'm looking for? Charming? Wonderful? Brilliant? Take your pick. It's about this girl finding her biological parents (and can i just say how weird it is to see Shiri Appleby (aka Liz on Roswell) to be playing a mom?), but it doesn't seem all sappy. It seems more like a dramedy. So the CW puts it on as the midseason replacement. WTF?

Bigger WTF? They didn't pick up Body Politic. Here you have a smart show about a bunch of young twentysomethings in Washington, DC with a kick ass cast. Seriously, you've got Minka Kelly from FNL as the lead, Jason Dohring from Veronica Mars, as well as Gabrielle Union and Jay Hernandez, who both have their fair share of movies on their resumes. Why would you throw that away? It doesn't fit thier "vision" for the CW? Yeah, if you're aiming for an audience of young girls, you wouldn't want to have a show with a smart young girl doing something with her life as the lead; no, you'd much rather have multiple shows that involve girls wearing skimpy clothing and getting into catfights over boys.

Seriously, this is why the CW isn't viewed as a good network. This is why the Emmys and most other big awards shows totally overlook the few good shows on the CW. Because the CW is just plain stupid.

Alright, so for school i have the option of writing a satire. Since i'm already writing two of the standard style analysis papers, i felt like i should take this opportunity to do soemthing else (also, the three papers are due wednesday, and i feel like a satire would be easier to write). Problem is, i don't know what to satire. I mean, obviously there are things i can make fun of, but it needs to go on for two or three pages. So, what would you like me to mock for three pages? ideas? anyone? please?

How am I ringing in the new year? with the christmas episode of doctor who. aren't i exciting? :P i'm currently waiting for it to download as i type (i was streaming it, and i left it to load while i watched Dick Clark with my mom, and half way through the episode, megavideo decided that i have to pay if i want to have the video up for more than three hours. assholes). I totally forgot about the christmas episode. I was reminded when I was watching Leverage and Hardison complained about how having to rewire two satellites slowed down his download of Doctor Who. Gotta love it. i hope you all have a happy and healthy new year!

Yay! I can finally post about it! So for months I've been planning on seeing Spring Awakening on Broadway with my sister for christmas, but i couldn't say anything on LiveJournal because my sister reads my LJ. So I finally got to take her to New York to see it today and it was amazing!!!!!!!!!!! I loved it. I really can't understand why it's closing...well, actually i do. it's a play aimed at a younger crowd. this younger crowd doesn't have a lot of money to begin with, and with the economy in the toilet, this younger crowd really doesn't have any money. But luckily, we got to see it!

There were only a few problems i had with it. The first was that they made Wendla look about 10 and Melchior looks about 18 so i kinda felt like calling out statutory rape during the sex scene. BTW, that whole full frontal nudity thing? totally exaggerated. Wendla's shirt was open for about thirty seconds and Weeds shows more of Hunter Parrish's body that this did (which was kinda disappointing). The gay couple was random. They didn't really have a storyline, just one scene (granted, funny scene, but nonetheless, they were kinda just thrown in there).

But actually, I can't complain a lot. I had fun. After the show my sister and I visited the tree in Rockefeller Center (which came from our town. we used to pass it every day on our way to middle school.). Then we went in the NBC store (where I drew a line for just how obsessive i will be when it comes to Friday Night Lights. #33? awesome. Heart with wings? cute. "I Love Riggins." sure. Taylor Kitch's face? fine. All of it on one t-shirt? that's a bit much.)

Just one more thing. It's so freaking hard to find a Hunter Parrish fansite! How am i supposed to be a fangirl if i can't properly stalk him? ;)

So I watched Christian Kane's new show Leverage. I really didn't think i'd enjoy it that much, but it turned out to be pretty awesome. Made me laugh a whole lot more than I ever expected. More importantly, I am capable of not hating Aldis Hodge (he killed Sammy on SPN, and then he was just a douchebag football player on Friday Night Lights). I really like his character here. In fact, I really like all of the characters. Each has their own little quirks that make them fun.

Basic rundown of the show, they all used to be bad guys, but it turns out there's a lot of money in taking out bad guys too. So now they're playing for the good guys. They're using all their high tech knowledge and skill to takedown major corporations that are corrupt. It's fast paced and very entertaining. so yeah, i recommend it.

Tomorrow night, i go see Twilight at midnight. Tomorrow night, Supernatural has their midseason finale. SPN starts at 9. Everyone is going to start lining up for twilight at 9. What the fuck fandoms?!?!? More like what the fuck friends, actually. i don't understand why everyone wants to get there three hours early. It's ridiculous. Of course if i don't go with them, then i'm not guaranteed a seat with them because Brielle wants us to find people to switch tickets with so we can be in the theater with our friends. Personally, i say we all sneak into the little theater that isn't completely sold out (it's a 24 theater complex, the big 4 are all sold out completely) so that we don't have to be packed in there like sardines. but yeah, it looks like i'm going to be downloading SPN at 2:30 am when i get home.

in other news....SPN CON IN NEW JERSEY!!!! but it's by Creation, which is even more expensive than the other already expensive cons, who apparently aren't the most organized or nicest people. And it's about $500. $359 for a ticket, $60 for autograph, $70 for photo op. seriously? what's more ridiculous is that apparently this is cheaper than the other Creation Cons. *sigh* why is Eyecon in florida? those seem to be a lot cheaper....

So have i mentioned my Roswell binge? I decided to get out my DVDs again (which makes this the third or fourth time i've watched the series straight through). Seriously, love that show. I miss the WB. I know that Supernatural is all cool for not being one of the WB scifi/fantasy shows that was campy with romance and girls and stuff (like Buffy, Angel, Charmed, Roswell), but i really do enjoy those shows. Back to my point. Roswell binge. I've ended up watching ER this season for Shiri Appleby (Liz), I'm in the middle of watching Skinwalkers with Jason Behr (Max) on YouTube, and I just finished an episode of Grey's Anatomy with Katherine Heigl (Isabel) (with a side of JDM). So yeah, binge (though i've been watching Grey's for quite a while now, but this post is mostly about Roswell and Grey's so i felt it was relevant to mention).

So I noticed some things about Katherine Heigl's characters on both shows...And i think that Dr. Isobel Stevens might just be Isabel Evans undercover hiding from FBI...

Usually it's Jensen. Or Jared. Or sometimes Jeff. However i'd like to take a moment to fangirl over a different J: Joss. As in Joss Whedon. As in THE Joss Whedon. As in God. :P I saw the new promo for Dollhouse, and i have to say, i'm in love.

So Halloween was fun. Went out with my friends as a dead prom queen using a dress my mom bought in the mid-80s. Very Madonna-ish. So my friends and I knocked on this lady's door, and i guess we were the first group of teenagers that she saw. she's asking us if we know who the band Paramore is and we're like yeah, we love 'em. she then goes on to tell us that two of the boys are her grandsons and shows us a couple of photos and talks about the Twilight soundtrack. So that was pretty much awesome.

School note: Have i mentioned how much I hate writing an essay every week? because i do. i really do.

why must being a twilight fan be so expensive. ALL of the jewlery Amazon.com put up for sale is out of stock right now (it only went up in the last couple of days). Even the keychains are sold out! Aside from Edward's bracelet being over priced on it's own ($20 for a bracelet? seriously?), for all the Cullen family jewlery it's $100! And that, of course, is the only place where they are selling the ring. The ring! I love rings. It's kinda borderline obsessive. I must always have a ring on, always. I feel naked without one at this point. And how do i know if the ring they put in will fit? There is no sixe thing listed on there. Of course by the time I find out, they'll be sold out (only 3,000 were made).

I can't ask for it for christmas because i know my mom has already stated that my big gift will be the Doctor Who boxset...which is also absurdly expensive. It's twice the price of a regular boxset with half the episodes.

Why is fandom so goddamn expensive?

yay!
so i got FNL to download! (thanks to [info]kynikey ) and it was great! personally, i love Julie and Matt. She's grown up a lot over hiatus. Thank god. She was getting really bratty last year. Matt is growing up a little too much. I've always felt really bad for him. Idk why he was so reluctant to get emancipated though. It basically doesn't change anything. It's not like he wasn't the one raising himself to begin with.

Tyra needs to put some more clothing on. Tim should consider keeping his pants on (not that i'm complainin, but i think Lyla may end up having a problem with him sitting in his underwear on the couch with his ex-girlfriend eventually).

So we see how they're writing Smash off. That's cool (they kinda had to. he wasn't sticking around Dillon forever). But where's Street? Has he left Dillon? Didn't he have a knocked up girlfriend at the end of last year?

Oh, and Buddy Garrity is an asshole. I'm totally rooting for Tami. Maybe that's just because i don't like football.

Now I gotta go watch my Winchester boys. bye!
