Yay! I can finally post about it! So for months I've been planning on seeing Spring Awakening on Broadway with my sister for christmas, but i couldn't say anything on LiveJournal because my sister reads my LJ. So I finally got to take her to New York to see it today and it was amazing!!!!!!!!!!! I loved it. I really can't understand why it's closing...well, actually i do. it's a play aimed at a younger crowd. this younger crowd doesn't have a lot of money to begin with, and with the economy in the toilet, this younger crowd really doesn't have any money. But luckily, we got to see it!
There were only a few problems i had with it. The first was that they made Wendla look about 10 and Melchior looks about 18 so i kinda felt like calling out statutory rape during the sex scene. BTW, that whole full frontal nudity thing? totally exaggerated. Wendla's shirt was open for about thirty seconds and Weeds shows more of Hunter Parrish's body that this did (which was kinda disappointing). The gay couple was random. They didn't really have a storyline, just one scene (granted, funny scene, but nonetheless, they were kinda just thrown in there).
But actually, I can't complain a lot. I had fun. After the show my sister and I visited the tree in Rockefeller Center (which came from our town. we used to pass it every day on our way to middle school.). Then we went in the NBC store (where I drew a line for just how obsessive i will be when it comes to Friday Night Lights. #33? awesome. Heart with wings? cute. "I Love Riggins." sure. Taylor Kitch's face? fine. All of it on one t-shirt? that's a bit much.)
Just one more thing. It's so freaking hard to find a Hunter Parrish fansite! How am i supposed to be a fangirl if i can't properly stalk him? ;)
